Opening hours

The archaeological zone is open from Tuesday to Sunday; it is closed on Mondays for weekly maintenance.

• Tuesday to Sunday: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
• Monday: closed (except scheduled holiday openings)
• Arrive in the morning to avoid the heat and the crowds
• Before travelling, confirm special hours by phone with the site

Tickets and admission

Admission is ticketed; discounts are available for students and teachers with a valid ID. Fees may change, so check current prices before you go.

• General admission is paid (the current price is posted at the ticket office)
• Students and teachers with ID: valid discount
• The ticket includes access to the site museum

What to see during your visit

• The Main Pyramid (central guachimontón), the largest structure of the complex
• The circular plazas and the pre-Hispanic ball court
• The site museum: models, ceramic pieces and historical context
• Viewpoints over the Sierra de Tequila and the Teuchitlán valley

• Marked trails (the ground is uneven in several areas)
• Basic facilities; large parts have little shade: bring water and sun protection

Rules and recommendations

• Climbing the structures is forbidden to protect the heritage
• Wear closed shoes, a hat and sunscreen
• Bring enough water: most of the walk is outdoors
• Hiring an official guide enriches the experience and supports their work
• Do not leave rubbish: help us preserve the site
